RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (Catechumenate)

“The Catechumenate is not a program. Catechumenate is a way of being church.”

 The initiation of catechumens is a gradual process that takes place within the community of the faithful. “The rite of initiation is suited to a spiritual journey of adults that varies according to the many forms of God’s grace, the free cooperation of the individual, the action of the church, and the circumstances of time and space.” A sponsor accompanies the catechumen representing the community, as a “faith friend”.

The Christian formation office will assist in providing more information regarding the RCIA process.
